Bridgestone and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand products and solutions to address the needs of a broad range of customers and industries.Business UnitBAMG - BloomingtonManagement LevelIndividual ContributorJob CategoryLegal, Compliance & AuditPosition SummaryIn this role the Sr. Environmental Engineer is responsible for assuring ongoing plant compliance with all State and Federal environmental regulations / permits, and corporate guidelines, including air permit; wastewater, storm water, SPCC Management; SWPPP Management; and Hazardous WasteManagement, etc. This role will initiate and lead plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective strategies for environmental performance. The successful applicant will possess strong technical knowledge in environmental compliance, and manufacturing plant operations.Pay Range: $82,700.00 - $128,200.00ResponsibilitiesPlant-wide disposal activities ranging from routine, known waste streams to accidental spills.Must understand plant processes and associated waste streams. Be able to devise safe and cost-effective ways for waste collection, recycle, transportation and disposal of solid and hazardous waste.Should have thorough knowledge of applicable air (Title V), waste (RCRA), and water (SPCC & SWPPP) regulations. applicable waste disposal regulations pertaining to air emissions, wastewater discharges, respond to emergency situations such as spills and accidental discharges, calling for coordinating services of emergency, fire, and spill response teams (must be on-call at all times).Will work in conjunction with various departments to find out about their future production plans and any changes they may decide.The plant must have uninterrupted function of the departments while ensuring environmental compliance is a primary task for this position.Permitting Strategy and Project Support.Compliance Reporting.Working Internally/Externally to Promote Company Sustainable Initiatives.Federal and State Rule Interpretation and Meetings.Inspections, Reports, and Presentations for Inside/Outside Customers.Team Development and Improvement.Program Continuous Improvement.Program Contractor Support Management.This individual will be responsible for environmental planning, permitting and regulatory compliance of the facility. Prepares permits and collects permit data associated with mining which include but are not limited to: Title V Air Permit, Industrial Wastewater Permits (NPDES) and Stormwater Permits.Collects data and maintains required records on air emission inventories, discharge monitoring reports (DMR) and waste management.Must have applicable knowledge of and experience with the state and federal laws.Conducts environmental inspections, audits and training.Supervises and reviews the work of a wide range of technical consultants.Supervises the work of staff responsible for our environmental compliance and special projects for air and wastewater quality, storm water management, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental audits.Establish schedules and methods for providing environmental compliance and regulatory services.Minimum QualificationsTypically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.At Bridgestone, you are Free to BeWe believe people can only provide superior service and quality to others when they feel safe bringing their chosen version of themselves to work.
